WNRCASN Call for Grant Proposals

Nursing Education Research Grant

The WNRCASN Research Grant was launched in 1998 by the Western Region Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing Executive and its members. The first grant was awarded in 1999. The WNRCASN Research Grant is intended to support the research activities of WNRCASN members who wish to investigate issues related to nursing education.

Graduate Student Education Research Grant

The Graduate Student Research Grant, introduced in 2007, is intended to support the research activities of WNRCASN members who are graduate students investigating issues related to nursing education. This award is available to:

  1. faculty members who are WNRCASN members and who are engaged in graduate studies; or
  2. graduate students at WNRCASN-affiliated institutions who are members of WNRCASN.

Graduate Student Research Grant Value: $2500

Nursing Education Innovation Grant

The Education Innovation Grant is intended to support a project designed to advance learning in nursing education. It can take a variety of forms such as technology, creative reconfiguration of a curriculum or a course within a curriculum, online learning, or innovative clinical experience.

WNRCASN Lifetime Honorary Member

The Lifetime Honorary Member Award is WNRCASN's highest honour bestowed upon a retired nurse educator who has made significant contributions to WNRCASN and nursing education throughout their career.

Calls for nominations go out in advance of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) that takes place in February each year. Nominations will be open and be accepted from the floor of the AGM, and close one month later. The Nominator will provide a brief CV and a letter of support for the candidate within the month that the call for nominations is open. A nominee will be selected by the Members-At-Large and Executive Committee and the successful nominee will receive lifetime complimentary membership in WNRCASN as well as all conference expenses covered for the following conference where the award will be bestowed upon the successful nominee.
